Affordable Therapy Through Our Student Program

We carefully select the best and brightest of our Masters level student therapists for our student training program at Toronto Counselling Centre for Teens. You can count on them to be warm, kind and skilled. These therapists receive a lot of support and mentoring here. Everyone seeing a student therapist essentially gets two therapists: the student that they meet with and a seasoned, wise therapist behind the scenes.

We love offering this program as it gives us a chance to offer therapy to anyone who is on a bit of a budget. Therapy can be expensive. Therapy with a student here is discounted to $85 per session. Our students join us for eight month placements.

Please consider one of these students for therapy.

Omar Bishir provides a steady and grounded presence in therapy, offering adolescents a safe space to explore their thoughts and feelings and gain insight into themselves. He understands that adolescence is often marked by uncertainty and shifting identities. His goal is to offer a supportive environment where teens feel respected, understood, and free to engage at their own pace

He sees clients on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays at our Runnymede and Bloor location.

Cheryl Wong is currently pursing a Master of Education in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Toronto. She brings with her a background in mentorship, crisis response, and behavioural intervention with youth facing challenges related to interpersonal relationships, academics, and identity. Through these experiences, Cheryl has witnessed the transformative power of creating a non-judgmental and affirming space—where people feel safe enough to explore emotions they may have long suppressed, opening the door to growth and healing.

She sees clients on Thursdays and Fridays at Danforth and Chester, and Saturdays at Runnymede and Bloor.

Anna Hartley‘s approach to therapy with teens is eclectic and client-specific; she works with clients to develop awareness and skill around emotional regulation, helpful versus unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs, mindfulness, and relationship-building. In the therapy room, Anna is approachable and deeply respectful of every client’s willingness to bring their true self to the work. While she welcomes any young person, Anna is actively welcoming of neurodiverse and/or 2SLGBTQIA+ young people

Emily Clark Campbell brings a calm and welcoming environment to therapy, where teens feel safe to explore their feelings and be vulnerable. The teenage years aren’t straightforward—there are lots of changes that can create pressure to figure out where you fit in. Therapy shouldn’t be another stressor; instead, it can be a place to help lighten the weight you might be carrying.

She sees clients on Tuesdays and Saturdays at our Runnymede and Bloor location.

If you’re interested in booking a session with Emily, click the button below her video! Alternatively, you can call us at 416-565-4504 or e-mail info@counsellingtorontoteens.com.

Please note that Emily will be with us until December. If you get to that point when Emily is done and you want to continue with therapy, don’t stress. We’ll have another student ready for you at that time and you’ll be able to continue on with low fee counselling. Most of our clients are feeling comfortable with their new student therapist within one or two sessions.
