Anna Hartley - Toronto Counselling Centre for Teens

Anna Hartley

Student Therapist

As a student therapist, Anna seeks to know her teen clients as they wish to be known in this moment. Anna knows that with the right support, skills, and resources in place, young people can call upon their unique resilience to overcome emotional obstacles and problematic situations.

Anna’s approach to therapy with teens is eclectic and client-specific; she works with clients to develop awareness and skill around emotional regulation, helpful versus unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs, mindfulness, and relationship-building. In the therapy room, Anna is approachable and deeply respectful of every client’s willingness to bring their true self to the work. While she welcomes any young person, Anna is actively welcoming of neurodiverse and/or 2SLGBTQIA+ young people.

Outside of her practice, Anna is a mom to two fabulous children (ages 15 and 10) and one cute pup (Sophie). She enjoys travel and adventures with her wife and kids, as well as cooking, gardening, and lifting weights. Fun fact: Anna is a trained lawyer and was partway through culinary school in Toronto when Covid hit.

Anna sees individual teens, children & adults as well as families.

Anna practices at our Chester & Danforth location.

Please note that Anna will be with us until April. If you get to that point when Anna is done and you want to continue with therapy, don’t stress. We’ll have another student ready for you at that time and you’ll be able to continue on with low fee counselling. Most of our clients are feeling comfortable with their new student therapist within one or two sessions.
