Emily brings a calm and welcoming environment to therapy, where teens feel safe to explore their feelings and be vulnerable. The teenage years aren’t straightforward—there are lots of changes that can create pressure to figure out where you fit in. Therapy shouldn’t be another stressor; instead, it can be a place to help lighten the weight you might be carrying.
Emily sees therapy as a place to discover yourself, uncover your strengths and increase compassion for yourself. An important part is learning how to cope with feelings and use them as a guide to find clarity. Her approach is flexible and tailored to your needs, helping you understand patterns in your thinking and behaviours, strengthen relationships, and develop mindfulness skills to navigate life’s challenges.
Before becoming a student therapist with Yorkville University, Emily spent a year in the Czech Republic teaching kids and teens. Living abroad deepened her appreciation for connection and different perspectives.
Outside of counselling, Emily enjoys yoga, listening to music, spending time outdoors, and being with family and friends.
Emily sees individual teens, children & adults as well as families.
Emily practices at our Runnymede & Bloor location.
Please note that Emily will be with us until December. If you get to that point when Emily is done and you want to continue with therapy, don’t stress. We’ll have another student ready for you at that time and you’ll be able to continue on with low fee counselling. Most of our clients are feeling comfortable with their new student therapist within one or two sessions.
