Michael is a Registered Social Worker and Child & Youth Care Practitioner with close to a decade of experience working with children, teens, and families. Throughout his career, he has supported youth with complex needs navigating anxiety, depression, emotional regulation challenges, behavioural concerns, neurodivergence (e.g.ADHD, ASD), self-esteem issues, and difficult life transitions.
Michael holds an honours Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Guelph as well as a Master's degree in Child and Youth Care from Toronto Metropolitan University. He has experience helping young people within schools, community agencies, and mental health treatment centres, including live-in treatment and secure forensic mental health facilities. His clinical training in child and adolescent mental health includes principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA).
His approach is warm, down-to-earth, and practical. He believes that every teen has unique strengths, and works collaboratively to help them better understand themselves, manage challenges, and build confidence. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, school stress, friendships, family conflict, or simply need someone to talk to, he’s here to help.
In his free time, he enjoys anything outdoors or active, including hiking, biking, soccer, and scuba diving!
