Asia comes to us from Wilfrid Laurier University, where she is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Psychotherapy and Counselling. She is passionate about helping youth navigate challenging periods of life and creates a space where teens can be their authentic selves without fear of judgment. Asia values building trust at each young person's own pace while creating a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship.
Asia supports youth with concerns such as anxiety, self-esteem and confidence, family conflict and relationships, emotion regulation, and cultural identity. Her therapeutic approach is informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She tailors her approach to each young person's unique needs while also integrating attachment-based perspectives and mindfulness/somatic practices.
Throughout her academic and professional experiences, Asia has developed a deep appreciation for working with youth. She also believes that collaborating with parents and caregivers can play an important role in supporting each young person's well-being and growth.
Outside of work and school, Asia enjoys spending time in nature, practicing yoga and mindfulness, exploring new cafés, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Asia sees individual teens, adults & parents, as well as families.
Asia practices at our Runnymede & Bloor location.
Please note that Asia will be with us until April. If you get to that point when Asia is done and you want to continue with therapy, don’t stress. We’ll have another student ready for you at that time and you’ll be able to continue on with low fee counselling. Most of our clients are feeling comfortable with their new student therapist within one or two sessions.
